Communication

Email is the preferred method of communication. All design specifications, maintenance requests, and content or other communications should be submitted in writing via email or as an attachment to email (.doc, .pdf, .txt, .rtf, .jpg, .gif, .tif).

You may call to discuss your needs, but any verbal communication must be followed up by an email work request in order for work to commence. There is no charge for the first 10 minutes of a phone conversation. Any additional minutes are billed as maintenance.

Each project must have a single designated contact for all communications between client and designer, authorized to provide content and approve site design, layout, and structure.

Billing/Payment

Work is charged at a flat hourly rate of $45, billed in 15-minute increments. This hourly rate applies to all services, including design, development, setup, scripting, and graphics work.

A signed contract and retainer is required for new web site design. Remainder is billed monthly (Net 10 days), with final balance due before web site is rendered active. All invoicing is through FreshBooks electronic invoicing.

Late payment or non-payment of charges will allow Julie Krefta Web Design to remove or replace any updated or changed web pages or files from your web site at our discretion.

Changes or updates specifically requested to be made before or after business hours, on weekends or holidays will be billed at $60.00 per hour with a MINIMUM CHARGE of $20.00.

Standard Browsers

All web sites designed are tested in the following browsers by default:

Testing can be performed in additional browsers, upon request, and modifications will be made ensure that your site is functional, for browsers released within the past two years. Please note that while I will attempt to ensure that your site works in all requested browsers, I cannot guarantee that the results will be consistent with the standard browsers.

Backups

I will retain a copy of your Web site as delivered, for up to 2 years after launch, and your hosting company may also create periodical backups. Ultimately, however, you are solely responsible for the proper backup and protection of your Web site and data. I strongly recommend regular backups of your site.

Self Maintenance

If you choose to edit your site content yourself or have a third party do so, please indicate this information in any future work requests, so that I do not inadvertently overwrite your updates.

Please note if updates made by you or a third party damage your site or cause it to display or function improperly, time to repair the web pages will be assessed at an hourly rate of $45.00.
